Italian Cloister Garden
The huge Italian Cloister Garden with its memorial to the Arandora star victims is rapidly taking shape on the banks of the River Clyde. Already the external cream and black marble cladding has been added to the perimeter wall, the entrance steps and ramp are nearing completion and the plaques containing the names of benefactors are being carved. The 200 year old olive tree, donated by the people of Tuscany has survived the winter and will be transplanted into the garden later this month. The opening ceremony will take place on May 16.
