A travel to Italy:
10 days between La Spezia (Cinque Terre area, in Liguria) and Florence (Tuscany).
Two different periods, at the end of August, from 21st to 31st and at the beginning of September from August 29th to September 8th. We provide 3 hours of Italian language classes every day and visits and activities to discover the region.
3 different languages levels:
Intermediate, Advance and Beginners A2-B1 Intermediate Level. Classes and activities program:First day. A guided tour of La Spezia, the first place where we provide accommodation. Sightseeing. Second day. Class activities to discover La Spezia and its region: Poets Golf, “Cinque Terre”.
Each student will prepare a presentation about a different place giving instructions to the others students on how to get it, what to do there, what to visit and why. In the afternoon a visit of the Palmaria island and Portovenere village (both UNESCO classified sites, World Cultural Heritage).
Travel by boat, return by bus.

A full day in Genoa, visiting the historical center, with the Old Port, San Lorenzo Cathedral and the most important ancient buildings in Via Garibaldi and Via Balbo (Unesco heritage). Optional, Oriental Museum.
Travel by train (about 1h.30).
www.turismoinliguria.it for further information about the places Fourth day. Departure to Pisa, open air lesson "in search of Keith Haring mural". Sightseeing and visit of “Campo dei Miracoli” with its Baptistery, Cathedral, Cemetery and the famous Tower.
Entrances to the monuments are no included. Fifth day. Knowledge on traditional dishes, handcraft and design objects. The students will prepare after a description on them.Free afternoon. We suggest to visit the Natural Park of “Cinque Terre” (Sites classified UNESCO World Heritage): Riomaggiore - Manarola · - Corniglia - Vernazza - Monterosso. Travel by train from La Spezia (10 min.) Park Entrance Ticket: 5 €.

Travel by train (1 hour), boating and hiking.

Travel by train from La Spezia (1hr 40 / 2h). 8. Eighth day. Lesson and activities on art and patrimony in aim to visit a Museum after: Uffizi Gallery or Accademia Museum. 9. Ninth day. Biographies of artists and important historical people of Florence. Students will create a story about them, set in the Pitti Palace or Boboli Garden, after visiting them. 10. Tenth day. Student will try to stage the fiction written. Free afternoon. Departing the day after. Prices for a minimum of 4 participants 325 euro per person for only classes and activities coordinated by teachers. All-inclusive formula: classes, activities, accommodation, travels in public transport, museums entrance fees: 840 € per person.
Accommodation is provided in doubles room in bed & breakfast.

Classes and activities program:For beginners we offer the same tour with cultural and leisure activities, and 3 hours daily classes focused on basic daily life communication skills. The aim of these classes is to permit to every student to communicate during this full immersion period. Class material will be provided.

Ninth day. Biographies of artists and important historical people of Florence. Every student will write his-her autobiography.
Visit of Pitti Palace or Boboli Garden.10. Tenth day. Show and tell, every student will talk about the Italian experiences just done. Free afternoon.
B2-C1 Advances Level.
For the students with and advance level of language (B2-C1) we offer a course focused even more on conversation and cultural references.
In fact this type of lesson will allow to our students to discover some different daily realities in contemporary Italy. The student will be able to carrying out projects in collaboration with the inhabitants of La Spezia and the surrounding region. Among the languages suggestion proposed: A DAY IN A MUSEUM. After a visit with an Italian guide to the Museo Amedeo Lia in La Spezia, the students will describe a room or a current period of painting. A written production work will be required at the end. PLACES AND MEMORY. Students will have the chance to interview and contact people in La Spezia or in the surrounding area to know their personal stories or the story of the transformations of the city. This work will be accompanied by an analysis on anthropological and social transformations in Italy in recent years. A reportage written will be required at the end. THE CITY AND THEIR COMMUNITIES. Several working groups will deal to discover and analyze different aspects of the city from the perspective of religion, nationality (country of origin), sexual orientation, political militancy. The work involves several stages: knowledge and contact with the subjects to be analyzed, interviews, collecting and organizing materials for the final exposure. All cultural and leisure activities will be the same at Intermediate Level (A2-B1, see above). Otherwise, according to their different language level, Advanced Student will deal with them differently.
